In all my travels, this is by far my favorite place. stay up late for the finale and goodbye show on the last night. the water was full of swimming fish, so you are splashing in the water while playing with the fishes, that was awesome. castaway cay looks like a paradise, the view of the black pearl from the movie PIRATES OF THE CARRABEAN was a dream come true to my boy. my advice is to travel on the low season times of the year. which is less expensive and less crowded. my family always travel to disney theme parks in orlando and always check-in their hotels but this cruise we can say that it was worth it with the money we spent. the food are excelent and a wide variety of items. we started out early on, although the ship does not leave until 4pm, we were there already by 12 noon, we got to eat lunch and have a swim even before the ship left ashore. there was never a dull moment in the trip. we would gladly do it again but this time we will take the longer cruise this time. We took the trip to bahamas with the disney cruise for 3 days, that was the most and well loved vacation of all time. I cannot imagine anything they could do to improve the experience. There was dancing, fun caribbean bars, drink stations everywhere, ice cream anytime you wanted it and more. Everything you needed for a great caribbean island experience was on this island. Yes there were hamburgers and hotdogs, but there were also blackened fish, pasta and more. The food wasn't like other cruise line island food. They've brought the Flying Dutchman from one of the Pirates movies to the island as well. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas as well as hammocks scattered throughout the beaches. There is a childrens beach, family beach, adults only quiet beach and a teen beach. It is surround by lifegauards in and out of the water. They have a pier in part of the cove for kids to jump from into 5 to 5 1/2 foot water. They've created a huge cove-like beach with no real waves and a great deal of shallow water. They offer a tram to the different areas of the island. Disney is able to dock at the island itself so there is no need to line up for a tender to the island. The day at Castaway Cay was way above expectations. We took our 6 year old Grand Daughter on Disney's Wonder May 2008. ![]()
